West Country Women Awards

The West Country Women Awards celebrate the achievements of female business and community leaders in Devon, Cornwall and Somerset. The annual awards aim to provide “an uplifting, empowering and confidence-raising process with transformational outcomes,” for all involved.

Some 1500 entries were received in 2023, culminating in a dinner and dance at the Crowne Plaza in Plymouth in December with a ceremony honouring 16 winners in different categories. The categories include the Inspirational Leader Award, Green Business of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year and Small Business of the Year.

The Awards were founded by local broadcaster and women’s campaigner, Alexis Bowater OBE of Bowater Communications and award winning business woman, Tess Stuber. Alexis also hosts the West Country Women podcast that celebrates businesses and showcases women across the region. They also have a West Country Women Directory.

The West Country Women Awards works with the Devon Women in Business Awards. Their winners automatically qualify as semi-finalists.
