Overview
Knead Peace is a bakery and baking school in Dartmouth, founded by baker Andrew Green. The bakery makes bread and pastries from scratch and works with producers from Devon and the wider South West, including regenerative flour suppliers, local dairy producers and regional coffee roasters.
The business grew from Andrew’s Knead Peace cookbook project, which began following the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Bakers and chefs contributed recipes to the book, with part of the proceeds supporting people in Ukraine. The project has since developed into the permanent Dartmouth bakery, continuing its emphasis on baking and community.
As well as selling bread, pastries and coffee, Knead Peace runs hands on baking classes with Andrew and visiting bakers. Classes cater for beginners as well as people looking to develop their baking skills, with private classes and group bookings also available.
Andrew and his wife Marilize also run the popular Cafe Alf Resco coffee shop and Alf’s Rooms providing exceptional accommodation in the centre of Dartmouth.
