Overview
The South Devon Players Theatre & Film Company was founded in the winter of 2005-6 to create opportunities for local people in the South Devon area wanting to build or further professional careers in the creative industries . It is self funded by fund-raising market stalls and community activities, has won several regional, national and international arts awards and specialises in bringing classical literature and history to life in new engaging ways, as well as welcoming new creatives and audiences, touring to theatres, schools, and community locations, and sharing the joy of excellent professional theatre – it does not need to be something that is inaccessible; exclusive – or boring! The Players always welcome new creatives, who share these values, to become involved with the company and welcome enquiries at any time.
