Kondanani UK

Exeter, UK

Kondanani UK is a national charity based in Exeter. It primarily supports the work of Kondanani Children’s Village in Malawi as well as the alleviation of poverty in the UK.

Kondanani Malawi incorporates a children’s orphanage with several homes, children’s schools, a paediatric hospital and community dental unit. Malawi is considered one of Africa’s poorest countries. Out of a population of 12 million people, one million are orphans. The Village was founded by Lewis and Annie Chikhwaza whose story is told in the book, Mother of Malawi.

Kondanani UK has recently overseen the Exeter Kindness mural, a fundraising project around creating the largest Charlie Mackesy illustration to date. Funds raised will go to the charities in the Crossline building in Heavitree where the large gable wall has been renovated to accommodate the mural. The project will also benefit the orphans in Malawi.

Our current project is a Crowdfunder for KCV’s 2024 Maize Appeal.

Countdown Creative is a local business that sponsors the work of the orphanage in Malawi.
